Langmeil
Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon from the Barossa Valley — from the world's oldest Shiraz vines.
In 1843, Christian Auricht, a Prussian settler, planted the first Shiraz vines in the Barossa Valley — vines that are still considered the oldest known Shiraz vineyards in the world today. The Freedom Vineyard is the heart of Langmeil, an Australian winery revitalized in 1996 by the Lindner and Bitter families with full respect for this history. Chief Winemaker Paul Lindner produces Barossa Valley Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Riesling following principles of minimal intervention and sustainable cultivation. The result: powerful, characterful red wines from the heart of Australia.
